Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 November 2026

This policy explains what information davidandertonbooks.com collects, why, and what happens to it. Plain language, no legalese where a plain sentence will do.

Who we are

This website is operated by David Anderton ("we", "us"), the author of the Remediation Series. You can reach us through the contact form on this site.

What we collect

Newsletter signups. If you join the reader list, we collect the email address you provide, plus any signup preference you choose (such as pre-order updates).

Contact messages. If you send a message through a form on this site, we receive the name, email address, and message content you supply so we can reply.

Voting. Trailer votes on Dispatch posts are recorded per browser so the tally stays honest. No account, email address, or name is attached to a vote.

Server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and page requested) for security and reliability.

How we use your information

We use your email address to send Dispatches — author notes, series updates, and launch announcements. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone for their own marketing.

We use contact-form messages to reply to you, and nothing else.

Keeping your information safe

The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to subscriber records is limited to the author and the services that deliver the newsletter. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions appropriate to a site of this size.

Mailchimp

The newsletter is delivered through Mailchimp, a service operated by The Rocket Science Group LLC. When you subscribe, your email address and signup preferences are stored and processed by Mailchimp on our behalf. Mailchimp's own privacy policy describes how it handles that data: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

Cookies and advertising

This site does not run tracking or analytics scripts without your consent. If advertising is displayed on the site, the advertising partner may use cookies to measure and improve ad delivery; you can control personalised advertising through your browser and your Google Ad Settings.

Your choices and rights

Unsubscribe. Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from the list.

Access, correction, and deletion. You can ask what information we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it — send a request through the contact form and we will action it.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
